Halo 2 [Feb. 10th, 2005|07:11 pm]
here's the deal. Halo 2 is a whole lot of fun, I think we can all agree on that, but then it gets to the point where it's all that happens. Co-op mode is fantastic, but because of that, even when you think it's about time to stop and focus on other things like school, or making comics, or anything else there's that second player saying "come on, there's just one more level, just one more level" and because you're playing on legendary you know that that one more level is going to be atleast an hour, probably more. Who knows how it works. And you've got those enemy snipers taking you out in one hit without even knowing where they are.

That's fine. But then it's three in the morning and your drunk housemates come home from the bar demanding halo then it's something else. I mean, sure I'm awake, and sure I want to play, but then it's six am and you don't know what's going on any more, and you can't believe that they're still concious. All of a sudden Halo doesn't seem so fun any more, because you've got three essays due, and you just can't stop. But how can you resist the dual wielding of plasa pistols, and SMGs? Or a plasma pistol in one hand to take the elites shields away, and the assult rifle in the other to head shot them and kill them. It's fun, it's intense, it's mind numbing.

You can even trick yourself into thinking that it will prepare you to join Jon Conners army when the time comes, but no, all it does it get you behind in your work. And if you hide the games, well your house mates will just search, or complain, until they find them. And then you're right back where you started...

ahh I have to stop writing now. Halo 2 calls.

(no subject) [Jan. 20th, 2005|08:05 pm]
You know those times when you think to yourself "wow, I'm glad I live here in the snow. I get to go tobogganing, and I get to ski, and I get to have snow ball fights, and I understand the joys of a white christmas?" But then your locks freeze. No worries because you're at a mall. You just go buy a lock de-icer. And then you go back, unlock the car, and turn the keys, ready for some nice warmpth, and a quick trip home. But what's this? Your car sounds like it is a world war II era machine gun. And then you're all alone in the cold with no way to get anywhere. It's at about that time that you start to hate the fact you live in the cold. You wish all skiers would break their legs, tobogganers would end up on thin ice and fall through, and that snowballs could be thrown at all those that you see. Ahh yes. it's wonderful here in the snow.

Keeping me from my comic... [Jan. 14th, 2005|04:15 pm]
So here I am, about to create a weeks worth of college pro strips so I can sit back and relax for a little while, and focus on essays, and all that other fun stuff. But what happens? I realize that I have to prepare a presentation on the lives of women in the victorian period as told through childrens poetry of their time. If that's not the most long winded topic ever, I'm not sure what could be.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for childrens poetry, and every now and then I don't even mind the victorian period, but using that as an autobiographical reference of the lives of one of their starring authors in order to use it as a sample of life in general in that time, well I'm just not sure how I can talk for an hour on that. It's not like I can't dig stuff out of most poems, but these poems are no more than a paragraph (stanza) each.

So here I am, instead of creating new strips, wondering how I'm going to do my presentation. But am I just doing the presentation? No. I'm here on the comic site complaining about it, so in the time I could use to get either of the two things done, I am effectivly completeing none.

...gah.

This is a test of the ranting system [Jan. 8th, 2005|05:41 pm]
I'm not sure what I'll use this page for in the future, and I'm not even that sure if it's going to work out the way that I want it to, but if it does it sure will make updating this rant thing a whole lot easier. I'm loving the embedded live journal thing. Paid users only, they say... hah. I'll embed this free acount like it ain't no thing.

Moving on, let's update and see how it works out.
